Simple Ways to Support St John’s

Whether you are the active or relaxing type there are many ways to support St John's. If challenges and events aren't for you here is a great range of options for you: whether from the comfort of your chair or a gentle day out!

Monetary donations help us provide the core Hospice care by supporting the staff who are there for you, your family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and your community 365 days a year. Have a donation box at your next event
At your next event, why not ask your guests to help palliative care in the area with one of our beautiful donation boxes? Whether you're celebrating or remembering a loved one, the donation boxes can be personalised with a photo and simple message. All generous donations will help us to continue supporting patients and their families 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in the Hospice and in their homes.
Facebook Birthdays
Social media savvy? Millions of people celebrate their birthdays on Facebook every day; Facebook Birthday Fundraisers are a great way to make your birthday extra special, more memorable and raise funds for St John’s Hospice! 

When your birthday is coming up, Facebook will invite you to create a fundraiser so you can select St John’s Hospice as your nominated charity. You can then tell your friends and family why you have chosen to dedicate your birthday to St John’s Hospice and invite them to donate! 

Facebook Birthdays is a great way to help us continue to provide care and treatment in the hospice and out in the community. 

Every donation, however small or large makes a positive difference – thank you and Happy Birthday!

Lottery
By joining our weekly lottery and giving on a regular basis, you will enable us to plan our care and support for patients and their families more effectively. It is one of the best and easiest ways to ensure our services continue and enables your local hospice to concentrate on providing the care and support that our patients and families need. Each entry to our weekly draw costs just £1, and you could win up to £500 every week, and up to £5,000 in our rollover jackpot! Remember, you must be at least 16 years of age to play our lottery.

The St John’s Hospice lottery supports a much-loved local charity to provide vital healthcare and emotional support to people living with life shortening conditions in North Lancashire, the South Lakes and areas of North Yorkshire.
Regular Giving
By making a regular monthly donation to John's Hospice, such as £3 per month, you will enable us to plan our care and support for palliative care in your community. 

Or you can call reception on tel: 01524 382538 between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday and 12 noon-6.00pm Saturday and Sunday and we will post the details to you.
Retail Therapy
St John's Hospice has shops in Garstang, Lancaster, Kendal and Morecambe. 

They are the perfect places to browse for something different, pre-loved and sustainable. What's more - 100% of the profits raised from our shops support patient and family care in your local community.

The Courtyard Café
The Courtyard Café at St John's Hospice is a fabulous café serving a large range of meals, snacks, a selection of delicious cakes and of course a wide range drinks.

From breakfast through to lunch and into the afternoon there will be something you can't resist. Open Monday Friday from 10am - 3pm, and additional events take place throughout the year.

All proceeds from the café go to support the work of St John’s Hospice.

The Courtyard Gift Shop
Located in the Main Reception at St John’s Hospice and open 365 days a year, our Gift Shop stocks a wide variety of gifts for everyone.

You’ll find a wide selection including handbags, scarves, jewellery, ceramics, soaps, toiletries, biscuits and preserves. The gift shop also stocks popular local brands such as Herdy. Plus, a beautifully curated selection of cards.

If you ever find yourself in need of something special or maybe you’re stuck for ideas come along for a browse! All proceeds from the Gift Shop go to support St John’s Hospice.
