St John’s Hospice Shops Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of St John’s Hospice with company number 02490956. All profits are donated to the hospice to ensure that it can carry out its valuable work.
Mark Cullinan has been a member of the Board of Trustees with St John’s Hospice since 2013. He has been a Non-Executive Director with Blackpool Hospital Trust since 2016, chairing the Voluntary Services, Workforce and Finance Committee. Mark is, from 2018, also the chair of Impact Housing Association a Cumbria based subsidiary of the Riverside Group.
Previously Mark had a career in Local Government, most recently as Chief Executive at Lancaster City Council to 2016 and immediately prior to that as the Director of Social Services with Wakefield City Council.
Shirley qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London in 1986. After qualification she worked in the City for a merchant bank specialising in company mergers and flotations but has since spent the last 30 years working with the charity sector.
As well as being a board member since 2010 Shirley is also Director of Finance and Resources for St John’s Hospice with overall line management responsibility for finance, payroll and HR, IT, facilities and maintenance, reception and volunteer departments.
Denise is currently Organisational Development Manager at the University of Cumbria, developing and implementing OD initiatives, and projects across all campuses. She also enjoys working as a self-employed HR contractor delivering training to local businesses across Lancashire and Cumbria. Previously, Denise worked as an HR Manager with Marks and Spencer for 25 years, and has been Chair of Governors at a local primary school.
Denise lives locally and enjoys any spare time on days out with her husband, children and friends.
Alexandra joined the board of St John’s Hospice Shops Limited in 2016. Alex works at Lancaster University in communications and engagement having worked in PR and Marketing for the last ten years, with organisations such as the NHS, Preston Guild, Cumbria County Council, McDonald’s and many others. She is using this experience to support the Hospice’s charity shops with their own promotion: attracting shoppers, donations and volunteers.
Alex lives in Lancaster with her husband, Simon and young sons.
Tiffany is currently a partner in Renes Fashion, a family run business which has been the heart of Lancaster fashion for over 60 years. Previously Tiffany worked in London for major institutions with career including roles such as Roadshow Co-ordinator, Trading Floor Desk Assistant, Personal/Executive Assistant and People Manager.
St John’s Hospice is a charity dear to Tiffany and she is delighted to be part of the board at St John’s Hospice and brings a wealth of retail knowledge to her role.
