St. John’s Hospice has been the lucky benefactor of Morecambe Sainsbury’s fundraising initiatives over the last year. Last May, St John’s were nominated by Sainsbury’s customers, shortlisted and were thrilled to be chosen by the staff Council in-store to become their Charity of the Year.

Peddle Witches Jane Rushton & Kate Lewis from Lowgill have been friends and neighbours for over 8 years and are keen cycling buddies.

On Thursday 18th April Boots Lancaster held its second annual beauty evening in aid of St. John’s Hospice, Lancaster, raising £2001!

Piano pupils of all ages taught by Yvette Price of Heysham got together on Friday 14th December at St. John’s Hospice to perform to family & friends. Everyone enjoyed the evening which helped raise much needed funds for the hospice.

Martin Strickland raised a fantastic £705 by organising a charity evening held at Carnforth ex-servicemen’s club.

Richard Grice completed the South Devon Ultra Marathon on 18th February 2012 to raise money for St. John’s Hospice in memory of his grandad Harry.

Hayton Winkley Solicitors upped the stakes at their annual Casino Night at the Castle Green Hotel held on Thursday 17th November by introducing a Charity Raffle in aid of St. John’s Hospice.

Butterflies Pre School in Heysham raised a fantastic £1781.55 for St. John’s Hospice and the community Macmillan team.

Jim Wilson and Tony Harris from the Lancaster and District group making the groups annual donation. This year they raised nearly £4000 for the Hospice.

Thank you to Glenda at HSBC who did a sponsored walk from Lancaster to Galgate with colleagues along the canal and back, stopping at The Plough at Galgate for lunch, who even kindly gave 10% off the food bill as they were doing such a good deed for Charity!

So far, Glenda has raised £130, which will be match funded by HSBC bank.
