Specialists in palliative care

Resources for public and health professionals

Welcome to the Resources and Education area of the website

We believe providing quality end of life care requires commitment, compassion and competence. Our central aim is to improve the quality of end-of-life care services delivered to patients and carers.

Resources and education for health professionals

St John's Hospice has a team of staff who are specialists in end-of-life care. We can offer guidance via our medical and nursing team on the inpatient ward care. The inpatient team can be contacted on 01524 382538.

St John's also has a community team of clinical nurse specialists, hospice at home, palliative respite and night sitting colleagues. Our community team of nurses and health care assistants can also support you with information about advanced care planning, pain management, symptom management, end of life care, palliative respite care and night sitting.

The community team also provide education support to health colleagues via a forum and training for nursing and care homes.  The community team can be contacted on 01524 384887.

Resources for patients, families and public
