This week is Volunteers Week, when we celebrate and say thanks to all the volunteers that support and give their time to St John’s Hospice, and St John’s Hospice Shops.
When we first went into lock down in March 2020, there were 550 active volunteers in almost 40 different roles, today we have approximately 250, working in our shops, maintenance, vegetable garden, patient visitor testing, Bereavement and weekend reception. Not forgetting also, the volunteers that help us at fundraising events, such as our recent plant sale. Many other volunteers are itching to come back and waiting to hear when the time is right for the Hospice to increase the number of people able to come in.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, find out more here, or contact Nicky Willan via [email protected] or 01524 382538.
Recently three members of our Senior Management Team spent time working alongside volunteers in our Morecambe £1 Shop, vegetable garden and maintenance team. Look out for the films which will be shown on social media!
Volunteers’ Week’s theme is ‘A time to say thanks’ so we want to use this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers; those who are back with us, and those who are waiting, for the donation of their time, of their skills and for their support. Volunteers mean St John’s Hospice can continue caring for our community!
