The annual St John’s Hospice Christmas Fair has raised an incredible £8,130 for the local charity.
On Saturday 3rd December they were queuing to get in at 10am as the doors opened for what is one of the hospice’s longest running annual events.
The room was packed from 10am to 4pm and full of christmas stalls selling christmas cards, jewellery, christmas puddings, elves on shelves, cakes, knitted goods, chocolate tombola, crepes, mulled wine and lots more. There was even a special visit from Santa! All the stalls were run by hospice volunteers and members of the local community. There was great support too from Jo & Cass Hair & Beauty offering quick cuts and styles for a small donation to the hospice.
Hannah Mayor, Community Fundraiser at St John’s said, “we have been overwhelmed by the crowds and the support today, it has been a great success. Thank you to all our volunteers and stall holders.”
Outside there were volunteers selling great quality premium grade non-drop Nordmann Fir christmas trees. Don’t forget, the hospice also offer a christmas tree collection and recycling service after Christmas. See www.sjhospice.org.uk/recycletrees for more details.
