Our reception team are vital to the warm welcome everyone receives, either when they come through our door or pick up the phone and make a call. The reception team are ably assisted by our friendly volunteers who support the running of the hospice reception. We are looking for Receptionist Volunteers to cover our weekend operation, could this be you?
WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL I BE INVOLVED IN?
💚 Welcoming all visitors to the hospice
💚 Answering the telephone & taking messages
💚 Receiving payment for shop and plant purchases
Full training will be provided
WHAT SKILLS AND ABILITIES WILL I NEED?
💚 Confidence and ability to work alone
💚 Pleasant and friendly manner
💚 Experience of reception work would be helpful, though not essential
💚 Empathy with the values and ethos of St John’s Hospice
WHAT TIME/DAY WOULD I NEED TO VOLUNTEER?
Our reception is currently open from 9.30am – 5pm at the weekend and on bank holidays, however this is always subject to change due to the demands of the service.
Saturday and / or Sunday 9.30am – 1.15pm, 1.15pm – 5pm.
You don’t have to be able to help at all of these times, any of these times you can spare we are very grateful for.
WHERE WILL I BE BASED?
The main reception desk of St John’s Hospice on Slyne Road, Lancaster.
