The Big Nourish Picnic 2021
We are so excited to launch our Big Nourish Picnic for 2021 and we really hope that your school will be able to join in the fun!
What is it?
In 2019 we held our first picnic at Williamson Park, Lancaster. This was a great opportunity to bring together our school communities and creative partners.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold a similar event this year, so, during the week commencing 12th July, we invite your school to host your own picnic! This can be within classes or bubbles or open to the whole school.
Each school that signs up will receive a free St John’s Hospice Picnic Pack. This includes all the resources you need to organise your picnic including a participant book, a map and a pack of sunflower seeds.
Once you have set your picnic date, you will have access to a number of short clips from our creative partners with some ideas of activities that you could include during your picnic! Watch videos from Chas Jacobs, British Athlete Louise Goddard and Mental Health Champions to name a few!
We will also be running an exclusive competition to have a child’s artwork displayed in our new Children & Family Bereavement Centre.
What is the cost?
Our main goal for this picnic is to raise awareness of our Hospice and to form better relationships with our school communities – therefore there is no cost to your school to take part in the picnic. However, if you feel your school is able to contribute financially, we would encourage you to set up an online fundraising page to share with your families.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this end of year celebration! It will also offer a sneak preview of what you might expect from our Nourish programme during the next academic year.

With very best wishes,
