Light Up A Life
Honour someone special this Christmas
Dedicate a light on our tree for a donation to St John’s Hospice
As Christmas approaches and we make plans to create new new magical memories. While we celebrate all that is new, we understand the need for time to reflect and celebrate those who have impacted on our lives.
Whether you dedicate in memory of a loved one or want to thank and honour someone still in your life, you can dedicate a light on our Hospice tree.
In return for your donation you will receive a personalised handwritten card with the name of the person you are honouring, to display in your home or to gift.
Once again if you make your dedication online you will have the option to upload a photograph of your loved one and a message to add to our Photo Wall. This is a wonderful way to make your dedication shine brighter and share with others in celebrating your loved one.
If you have made a dedication and would still like to add a picture and message, please send the details to [email protected] and and we will add these for you. Please note it could take a few days for your picture to appear online
Your dedications help create unforgettable memories
Light Up a Life is a reminder that Christmas can be tough when we miss loved ones, but the memorable moments shared together still shine. Here is Vernon and his daughter Laura’s Story.
In March this year, Kathryn stayed on our inpatient ward. Kathryn’s husband, Vernon said “The care was brilliant; you couldn’t get better care. The facilities are second to none. Kathryn’s room was amazing, size, clean, with a view to outside which we could all enjoy. The family thought the view from Kathryn’s room was amazing because of the wildlife in the garden and the sunny position of the room which made it not seem as bad at times.
“We were apprehensive about sending her. We weren’t thinking end of life. If anyone suggests going into St John’s for respite or treatment I would highly recommend it. It was hard under the restrictions but the staff would do anything for you.”
The Hospice is a place for the whole family to receive support and make every moment matter all year round. Light Up a Life supports the work of St John’s and allows your community to have time to reflect on a loved ones life during the festive season.
