Specialists in palliative care

Welcome to and thank you for visiting the St John’s Hospice fundraising page!

Why fundraise for St John's?

St John's Hospice needs your support so we can be there for one of the most difficult times people will face, today and tomorrow. We want to be there to continue to provide charity, care, compassion, collaboration and celebration to your community.

The Hospice is a charity: around 30% of our funding is from the NHS, 70% comes from people like you in our community. When you support our fundraising, you are directly helping us to care for patients with life shortening illnesses from Grasmere to Garstang, from east to west from Sedbergh to Morecambe, at home and in the hospice.

St John’s Hospice does not charge for the care it gives but it is not cost free to provide. This means we need to raise £434 per hour to keep caring, 24 hours a day, 356 days a year.

There are so many ways you can help us, including making a one-off or regular donations, leaving a gift in your Will for future care, playing the Hospice lottery and of course, attending our fantastic fundraising events. There is genuinely something for everyone!

Take a look at upcoming events: what takes your fancy?

  • Car Boot Sales - 9 April & 9 July
  • Colour Dashes: 23 April in Kendal, 21 May in Garstang and 17 September in Morecambe
  • Windermere Golf Day 0 23 June 2023

The fantastic fundraising events calendar is updated frequently. Keep a look out for new and exciting events such as the London to Paris cycle ride, Colour Dashes, overseas treks, woofs and wellies with your four-legged friends and more!
