We are looking for a Hospitality Assistant to join our team, who will provide excellent customer service to the patients and their families in our care.
As a Hospitality Assistant you will liaise with patients, nursing staff & our catering team to ensure that patients receive refreshments, when required, that meets their nutritional, cultural and religious requirements. Ensure that the appropriate crockery & eating utensils are provided for the patient and following use are correctly cleaned and put away.
📍 Location: St John’s Hospice, Lancaster
⏰ Hours: 18 hours per week (1x 12hr shift & 1 x 6hr shift, on a rolling 3-week rota. With possible extra hours to cover sickness & holidays
✅ Role Type: 6 months Fixed Term
💰 Pay: £8.91* – £9.10 per hour, dependent upon pension scheme
💚 Pension: *NHS Pension Scheme available subject to availability criteria; or 8% employer funded St John’s Hospice Pension Scheme
📅 Closing Date: Sunday 26th September 2021
Some of your duties will include:
- Discuss and help patients make appropriate meal choices, ensuring they are aware of alternatives and special requests.
- Assist the catering team to serve patients.
- Ensure details of patients dietary needs are kept up to date.
- Facilitate daily discussions with the catering team to gain a full knowledge of the menu choices for the day.
- Liaise with catering staff to maintain a stock of items.
- Undertake basic food preparation.
