The Highwayman, near Kirkby Lonsdale, has been a huge supporter of St John’s Hospice over recent years and have been tirelessly fundraising towards the running costs of the Lancaster based hospice.
Since 2011, they have been inviting their guests to donate 20p per meal purchased to help provide much needed palliative care within the South Lakes, North Lancashire & North Yorkshire areas. The generosity of their diners has been staggering and with the additional funds raised at two charity evenings in the Ribble Valley Inns pub, they have raised almost £10,000 and are still going!
Jo Humphrey, Fundraising Manager at St John’s explains, “without the unwavering support of local businesses such as The Highwayman and the heart-warming generosity of their customers, we simply wouldn’t be able to provide the expert care we do. Thanks to our local community, patients and their families get the support they need when they need it most & we are so grateful to The Highwayman for continuing their partnership with us.”
Laura Bromwell, Highwayman Manager, “we are very proud to support such a worthy local cause and our customers are always happy to donate as they appreciate the vital work St John’s does in our community. I am thrilled to be continuing this simple yet effective fundraising campaign going forwards and hope we can raise much more for the hospice!”
