“I became a nurse because I wanted to help people.”
How often have you heard this, and wondered if you are feeling this in your current role?
Are you the nurse who wants to work for an organisation rated as ‘outstanding’ by CQC?
Are you the nurse who wants to lead a ward of 13 beds with an excellent staff-to-patient ratio of 6 staff for an early shift, 5 staff for a late shift and 4 staff for the night shift?
Are you the nurse who wants to work with an incredible team to further develop a much-loved inpatient ward?
Have you ever wished that you could lead a team that truly practices holistic care and has the backing of a multi-disciplinary team who meet on a daily basis?
Have you ever wished you could work for an organisation that will support your welfare, wellbeing and need for resources so that you are proud of your work?
Have you ever wished that you could be the Head of Ward Services for an organisation that 93% of staff would recommend as an employer?
If you think this is too good to be true – it isn’t – this is St John’s Hospice where outstanding palliative care is the everyday reality. This is what our staff say:
“Nursing at St John’s is a very different experience, the biggest advantage is that you have much more time to spend with patients and of course their families. I work with very experienced staff, you develop your expertise and skills, and the patients really feel the benefit of all this knowledge.”
“I look at the pride people take in their work: kitchen staff, housekeeping staff, the volunteers, everyone. What they give is from the heart not from a textbook. I feel supported as an employee so I am free to do what I do best – look after people. I’m blown away by how well I have been looked after as a member of staff. ”
