Welcome to The Great China Trek
17th to 27th September 2016
Departure is nearly upon us when our amazing team of 30 brave trekkers will board the coach here at the hospice at 7.30am on 17th September to travel to Manchester airport for their flight to Hong Kong and then on to Beijing. It will truly be an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. They have all been working so hard, organising events, to raise their funds for the hospice, and training by walking up mountains in The Lakes.
Events ranging from coffee mornings to afternoon teas; fashion shows to Motown nights; Dirty Dancing nights to Sunday dinners; building the Great Wall of China from Lego and baking a Great Wall of China Cake; and from car-boots to head shaves:- the imagination of our team knows no bounds!
They are on the final push now, and soon will be packing their rucksacks, walking boots, Mosquito repellent and all manner of DIY first aid and medicines in case of need!
They are going to be making a lifetime of memories, but most of all they doing something truly amazing for our local hospice and are making a huge difference to local people who are going through a very difficult time. Without fundraising efforts like this we would simply not be able to continue to offer care, hope and support to our patients and their families.
If you can support them in any way we all would be very grateful. Please follow the link to donate to one of our trekkers or to someone you know who is going on this trip www.sjhospice.org.uk/trek.
