Dr Jim Gardner is a GP and the Deputy Head of the School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire. Jim is also a Non-Executive Director of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Formerly Medical Director of the Lancashire Area Team of NHS England, Jim has over 25 years’ experience of care provision, health service commissioning, clinical and corporate governance.
Born and bred in Lancaster, Jim trained in medicine at Cambridge University and London. He then worked in hospitals around the UK and in Australia before returning to the North West to practise as a GP. He is married to Gill, a solicitor, and has three grown-up children.
