Earlier this month, the team at Lancaster-based software house, accessplanit donated a generous collection of clothing, books and other items to our New Market Street shop, from a ‘Donation Station’ they had set up in their office.
After collecting in the office throughout the month of September, the team had not only managed to help supply our new shop with much needed items of stock, but also benefited from a jolly-good wardrobe clear out in the process!
Dave Evans, Managing Director at accessplanit said, “It was a fantastic, feel-good activity, that our whole team could get involved with. We set up a station in the main office, and the donations just kept coming! It all goes to an extremely worthy cause, so this is certainly something we will be doing again in the future!”.

Office Collection ideas:
1- Set up a station in your office or workplace for a month and let everyone know where they can leave their unwanted items.
2- Run a Donation Day – Give everyone at your workplace a day to bring in their donations.
3- Incentivise your team – Give a gift to your biggest donator, or have a ‘donator of the month’ award.
4- Christmas de-clutter – Ask your team to bring in any of their unwanted Christmas gifts during the month of January.
Our new shop on Market Street opened in September 2018 and is in a prominent position in Lancaster town centre. Thanks to our ten Hospice shops throughout North Lancashire and the South Lakes; relying on generous donations from local communities, we are able to raise over £300,000 each year for the Hospice.
