St John’s Hospice is looking for Complementary Therapists.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To provide complementary therapy to patients and their carers within the In-Patient Unit, Day Hospice and in the Community (alongside hospice staff).
WHAT SKILLS AND ABILITIES WILL I NEED?
Volunteers will be required to hold a level 3 qualification in either: Massage, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology or Reiki. They will be registered with the appropriate Professional Body e.g. FHT, and to maintain continual Professional Development.
With the guidance of the Complementary Therapy Coordinator, provide Complementary Therapy to patients and their families as and when required, depending on need and availability.
Volunteers will be required to maintain accurate written or computer records of all therapy interaction conducted. Full training will be provided.
WHAT TIME/DAY WOULD I NEED TO VOLUNTEER?

WHERE WILL I BE BASED?
Mainly at St John’s Hospice on Slyne Road, Lancaster. Occasional travel off site to a patient is possible but this will be with a member of staff in a hospice vehicle. The hospice staff member would drive.
