We are looking for an experienced Chef to support our existing catering team as we prepare for the reopening of our successful Courtyard Cafe. This is the perfect role for a Chef looking for a new challenge in a busy and professional kitchen, with a real focus and passion for locally sourced, fresh produce.
St John’s Hospice has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission and has a 5* Food Hygiene rating. The successful candidate will have experience of producing high quality meals from raw produce for individuals with different dietary requirements. Flexibility to work additional hours when required would be advantageous.

Location: St John’s Hospice, Lancaster
Hours: Full and Part Time vacancies available (minimum of 22.5 hours per week). Each shift is 7.5 hours long, within the hours of 7.30am and 6pm. No split shifts.
Role Type: Permanent
Pay: £18,540* – £19,125 per annum
Pension: 8% employer contribution (*NHS Pension Scheme available subject to availability criteria)
Main duties include:
- Respond to patient’s individual needs in our care and all patrons of our successful Courtyard Cafe.
- Ensuring high quality, appetising food is prepared in a safe, hygienic environment in line with current legislation and hospice policies and procedures.
