Due to increasing demand for Hospice services the car park is being extended. This means that the car park will be closed for four weeks from 11 February to 8 March as improvements take place and during this time you will need to park outside the Hospice grounds. We know that this will cause inconvenience for some of our Hospice visitors and are sorry – we are truly doing all we can to minimise the disruption.
Having listened to feedback the Hospice will soon be starting a three-month extension project to improve parking facilities for patients and visitors. Although it is a three-month project the work is being staggered so that car parking to staff and patient visitors is closed for only four weeks. Ambulances and Patient Transport will still be able to have clear access to the Hospice.
We are asking our supportive community and neighbours to ‘bear with us’ because we know a new car park will minimise the stress associated with car parking and also improve the patient and family experience. Recognising that the local community is increasingly environmentally conscious there will also be a bicycle shed, motorbike parking spaces and electric car charging points. In addition to extra spaces there will also be improved lighting for safer evening and winter hour visits.
On the advice of our health and safety team, while the first part of the extension work is underway the Courtyard Café will also be closed to the general public for four weeks. Visitors to the in-patient ward will still be able to access the café 10am – 3pm. When the Courtyard Cafe opens again we are assured the menu will include the return of customers firm favourites return and some exciting new treats!
Thank you for your support
