In-Patient Care
Patients come to the Hospice having been referred by hospital consultants, GP's,
Macmillan nurses or Hospice Clinic doctors.
Some patients require assessment and symptom control, respite, convalescence or admission for treatment such as blood transfusion.
We aim to improve quality of life so that patients may be able to return home. Sadly some patients are admitted for terminal care. Whatever the situation, the hospice ward team make every effort to provide physical, psychological, social and spiritual care. Support is also given at all times to the families.
